So, I was having a problem getting to a page on the AMEX web site that I wanted to peruse (at my leisure) concerning the FHR program. Couldn't get the link to work, so finally called the number on their website that seemed to be the proper number for website support.

After being routed to no less than 5 people and being on the phone 65 minutes.... I finally got a rep (English speaking, no less) that was able to replicate the problem and admitted, yes, there is a problem....Gee, you think?

Then they re-rerouted me to PTS where I attempted to make a reservation. That took about 20 minutes. Couldn't find a profile for me, despite the fact that I have used PTS many times before.

At every step, it was like a whole new day.

I'm thinking for $450/year (or whatever it is now), I shouldn't put up with this....

I had the same problem with the FHR page this week. Annoying. And it has become more hit and miss with customer service, both on the phone and via email. I have had a PTS agent go above and beyond for me but I've also called and the agent I spoke with couldn't seem to find me in the system, even though I had booked something else just a few days before. Go figure.
