My apologizes if this is a common question. I was not able to find it on the master sticky, though.
Like many other airlines, does NZ allow a 24-hour grace period after booking in which to cancel a reservation for a full refund?

Note that I'm crew, not ground staff, but my understanding is that for domestic tickets booked online, if you call back the same calendar day (ie, 23:59 or earlier) the ticket can be "non issued", as the credit card charges are only sent through after midnight.
For tickets booked ex-America, I'm not sure if the same system is used, but it's worth a try to find out. If you booked through the call centre, I think the tickets are placed in a queue, prioritized by date of travel, so your ticket may remain unissued for quite a number of days after making the booking - in which case I'm sure it would be easy to cancel without penalty.

I decided to call NZ directly to check.
They do not have a grace period. HOWEVER, the agent I spoke with did say that if a reservation needed to be cancelled, a full refund *may* be offered at the discretion of the supervisor.

In my experience NZ are happy to make a refund if you call them straight away and it is an obvious double-booking. If you simply changed your mind then unlikely to get a refund (on a non-refundable fare). YMMV.
