Best Western Rewards - several questions about this program

Mr. Kipper is a new member (I signed him up today), and will be staying at a property for several days, approximately 20+. I have several questions, since I'm the one who tracks the accounts. :)

With the different tiers, will it automatically update his account as he reaches each, based on his total of nights?
If it automatically updates, will he start earning the various percentages as he hits the different tiers?
He is going to need to check out of the hotel to switch to another room type at the hotel, and then will check back into the hotel in the same day. How does this affect the two questions above?
Since he'll be checking out and back in, will this count as two separate stays, making his second stay eligible for the triple points promo?

Thanks!

Checking out and back in the same day will not count as two separate stays! He has to check out, skip a day (by staying somewhere else), and then check back in. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time checking out and back in.

Furthermore, even if the nights qualify for tiers, they won't be computed except on a stay basis, since nights don't post separately, but only once the stay completes (and then about a week at least after that). Now, each stay will post about a week after it ends, so if it's split into lots of stays (again, that requires switching hotels for a night!), each one after qualifying for a new tier, that might work. But it probably wouldn't offset the points you lose by having to spend a couple nights at other hotels to make it work! (Only the first hotel hop, the one which makes triple points possible, is worth losing one night's points for IMHO.)

By the way, the tier points would only be based on the original points, not on the tripling. And they're not tripled. Yet another reason I think you should concentrate on the triple points part of the promo until it ends.

Oh, and, if it's 20+ days, doesn't the triple points promo end in the middle of it? If so, you should call them and find out if you'll earn triple points through your last day even if you check out days after the triple points promo ends. If not, then one more hotel hop (on the first night that the triple points doesn't apply) would be called for!
