what is fhr and what do i need to qualify? i did a search, and find lot of talk about advantages of fhr, but cannot figure out what it stands for, and how to get it.

Fine Hotels & Resorts. It is a perk of the Platinum and Centurion Charge cards.

You need an American Express Platinum or Centurion charge card.
Confusion sometimes arises because American Express issues many credit cards with the word "platinum" in the product name. In this context The Platinum Card refers to the card carrying the $450 annual fee, or Business Platinum Card which is $395 (but increase to $450 has been announced).
