Hi all. I've recently hit the mark where my spend is high enough to qual for centurion. Having been a long time plat user I have some questions that I'm hoping folks who have been plat and are now cent, can answer.

I can go either way business cent or personal cent. Which has the larger / better scope of benefits? What are the differences?

Can someone give me a concise run down of the differences between cent and plat?

I've found a wealth of value in my plat but am not sure that I will find the same in Cent. I travel frequently both for business and pleasure, do stay in 5 star accomodations, however am very concious to insure that there is some good benefit and I'm not buying just status.

Would love to hear how mouch you value the benefits of cent vs. plat...

Thanks,

Excelsior

There was a thread recently about how personal spend can't get you a biz card, so make sure you actually can get the one you want.

As for differences, there are a few I can think of:

3 year extended warranty v 1 year
Guaranteed FHR upgrade instead of at check-in
Airline status

I'm sure that there are others, but those are the most significant ones I can think of.

Thanks for your message, my primary concern is that I'm getting value over and above Plat. The airline status is a biggie for me. I like that... The thing that I don't like is the 5K initiation... Don't mind the $2500 annual... Would love to hear from others if they feel that thier cent is superior to thier old plat....

Thanks,
Excelsior

True, $5k is hefty, but you only need to pay it once and you're in for life.

Have you checked the Wiki for all of the info on Cent including a link to a website that compares benefits across the cards?

Thanks for the info all. I've pulled the trigger... Appreciate your advice and comments...

I think it's worth it if you can:

1. Afford the yearly fees and initiation fees.

2. Get enough use out of the benefits of the card to match $2500 in value, at the very least.

If you can do both of those things then I think you made a good move.
