Travel Technology - iTunes Mac OS X - hotkeys?

Sorry for stupid question, but google search isn't working for me.

How do I control iTunes when I am in another application like Excel.

Is there a built in or third party hack so i can change volume, go to next song, etc?

In the Dock, just click and hold on the iTunes icon. A menu will pop-up allowing you to do things like that.

You may want to have a look at Quiksilver. It's not just an iTunes controller app -- it's much, much more than that.
