Are there any reviews/information on the 4 Points Zagreb?
I see a small mention...but nothing else. Anyone stay there or have knowledge?I checked out this morning...
This is a modern (or recently refurbished) hotel with very attractive rooms (at least this is true for the SPG room I was given [I have Gold status]). There might not be any SPG "floors", if my room is any indication; my floor was split with only the north-facing (hill-side view) rooms designated as SPG rooms.
I didn't try any of the dining facilities; also, did not try the casino - but I never saw anyone using the stairs leading to it. Of course, being Easter weekend, the hotel was pretty dead (except for a small Italian tour group that arrived Saturday night) and that might explain the lack of activity.
There are several cafes and bakeries in the area, and a thriving local market (on Saturdays) at the nearest major intersection, about 1km away.
A real negative of this hotel is location: about 1km from the nearest tram/bus stop (very surprising considering that the hotel sits adjacent to a sports complex) and maybe 2km from the main square. If you're thinking of just cabbing it to/from the hotel, think twice. As inyourpocket correctly points out, this is one of the most-expensive taxi locations on the planet. About 54HRK to get from the bus station (where the airport shuttle terminates) to the hotel - only 3km or so.
If you ever get lost while touring the sights in town, it's easy to find your way back to the hotel - just look for the belching smokestack that sits just 100m from the western edge of the hotel. At twice the height of the hotel's 19 stories, the stack is easy to see from anywhere! (At least it doesn't smell bad.)

Thanks for the review. It does confirm my thought that the location is not good for most people. The price is good. I wonder if anyone has another hotel, better located, to recommend that is reasonable?
