..... leaving tonight for LHR, will be back in a few weeks. See you all then.

(ALTHOUGH - I will be Telnetting into my PC, and might post stuff from it - likewise, I might post stuff from some LON based computers - I doubt it though!)

Watch for me on TV, I will be doing my utmost to call Lleyton Hewitt *OUT*. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Which matches are you doing?
Have a good trip.
What was that record number of beer cans consumed by David Boon from Syd to LHR??

And keep an eye our for me around Southfields (the suburb that everyone who come by tube access the Wimbledon grounds from) or do you esteemed umpires get driven to the AELTC and don't take the Tube?

I am sure by Tuesday the novelty will have worn off for us again here with the crowds.

I will be in the centre court on Tuesday and Court No 2 on Friday in the first week.

Shall I yell out "Where is the Docta" everytime the umpires rotate?

Have a good time. You should post details of your centre/court 1 times

Are you going to meet up with the FTs of the homeland whilst over. If so, bring a QF Club fridge full of Hahns and Crownies over for us http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Calling Lleyton out is commendable, just make sure that you never call Tim Henman out http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

That would be Dennis Overberg, I believe - ITF Gold Badge, ATP Blue Badge, I think he is on an ATP contract - still, no ATP tournaments during a Grand Slam, so he has nothing else to do.

Nice guy, likes his p*ss.....

NFI - you show up in the morning and get your squad sheet for the day, telling you what courts you are on, what times you are on court and what times your breaks are.

Alas, I won't be doing any terrorising (oops, I meant to say "touristing" whilst over there - this time any way. Have a wedding to attend which will bring me straight back to Sydney as soon as it is all over.

Calling Lleyton out is commendable, just make sure that you never call Tim Henman out http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I call em as I see em - except when it is Lleyton. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Lleyton hates me with a vengeance. I was in the chair wqhen he was playing as a 12 year old. I called a ball out on the base line at the far end of the court - he was 78 feet away from it (he was behind his own baseline) and had the net in the way - bearing in mind he was only 12, so bugger all height wise.

After all, he had a MUCH better view, being 78 feet away and slightly shorter than the net, than I did, being up in the chair.

Anyways, I digress. Once a player challenges a call, the umpire cannot change it - it is a law of tennis. He challenged my call, I could not have changed it even if I was so desired (I wasn't). I told him to continue play. He continues arguing, I gave him a time violation. He called me a f***ing ar**hole. I suspended play. I called the referee to court. He told me to do what I had to do.

I defaulted him out of the tournament. He has never let me forget it. I get a scowl from him every time I walk onto a court that he is on.

I am not worried though - he is a brat.

For those who do not know me, I am *somewhere* in this photo (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~daproc/2003AO.jpg).

Suffice to say, I am in the back row. (This photo is of the NSW contingent to the Australian Open last year, so is a tad dated - those who know me will recognise me though).

For those who are curious, I have been stuck on outside courts for the last couple of days, so did not get the chance to call Lleyton out when the ball was six feet in. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Nothing major happening here.

Dave

(Still posting via TelNet) - Willyroo, can you confirm the IP address I am posting from via email, there are extremely good reasons I am telnetting rather than posting direct. I will explain if I have to, but I do not want this ladies IP address broadcast all over the place.

Dave, thought we'd be hearing from yuo soon. I know which one you are...the picture is a bit dark and dated.

Can't wait to hear the stories about Wimbledon 2003...maybe you could call Kim Clisters "out" as well (and have them both hate you).

Court 2 on Friday 27th June??

Was that you on the centre line (mostly) for the Rainer Schuettler v Todd Martin (5 set game 200+ minutes) match with the bleached blonde hair?
