It's been a long time since I've rented from Thrifty or anyone at FLL.

So far Thrifty has the best deal on a convertible but if there's any reason to avoid this location, I'd love to have the heads up!

TIA

I usually rent from an off-airport site but you should have no problems. I would consider signing up for blue chip, you can designate miles or free day after 16 days of rental. Currently, they have double blue chip/rental rewards if you pay with AMEX. (1 day rental reward for every 8 days) https://www.thrifty.com/Specials/BCAX.aspx

If you are sure of your plans, call and have them add the bluechip # to your existing reservation. This may speed up your processing time at the airport.

PS You can rent from an off-airport location and return the car to the airport location at no extra charge.

The Blue Chip Express Rental Program® is our free program that expedites your rental process at Thrifty locations in the U.S and Canada. Members enjoy special “Blue Chip lines” that get them to the counter faster. Once there, Members simply present a driver’s license and credit card, sign the contract…and then they’re off. The return process is even faster. Plus, Blue Chip Members can participate in a variety of reward programs that can earn them free days at Thrifty or mileage with their favorite airline. So, shorter lines. Faster service. Travel rewards. And FREE membership. What’re you waiting for? Check it out below.

I got a great deal from Thrifty when I was at FLL for a weekend conference (cab RT was more than the car+gas for 4 days). I had no problems whatsoever. Did the Bluechip though, so I never really had to talk to anyone. The car rental location in FLL is really easy for pickup and dropoff (although my all-time favorite is CHS).

Just came back from FLL where I had an easy rental experience at FLL,

Despite being a bit turned around as this was my 1st rental at the new "rental center" it was a far sight better than the last time i rented from thrifty at FLL. iirc, that time, i flew in at night and the shuttle drove to what seemed like a shack in the middle of nowhere

For 39.99+/day (vs $68+/day offered by Hertz) I had my choice of ragtops - took the mustang over the sebring and was on my way in a matter of minutes ^
