Weekend in ROK (ex SYD) in September. Never been there, so "just for the hell of it". Even Mrs og likes this idea (especially since my CC that paid for it.....). Of course 4k points / 40 SC is nice too.

ahh ROK - the bar is self serve. What more could you need...

(Edited to add:

BNE-SYD-BNE 3 PAX @ $99 - don't forget it finishes Monday 9 June. Tried to book #1 junioroo as child, fare came back at $170. New window, adult fare $99. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )

I am sure you will find it interesting. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Seriously though, make sure you take a picture of the life size bulls scattered through the city.

You will definately want to hire a car there - just to find the road out of town. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Oh dear, not another MEL (only looks good from a B52)?

Thanks willyroo about the self serve bar status. Maybe we should start a tag to locations that has:

SSB (self serve bar),
DSS (drinks served at seat (Concorde bar)),
SBB (staff behind bar),
SOB (bar closed),
HPA (Hahn Premium available),

etc. I'm sure there are more.... (but maybe willyroo might want this in another thread?

Just realised that my aniversary date for my FF is 31st July. That means with all these cheap airfares i have booked and my RTW, i will go from bronze to silver in two months. Leaves me another 10 months to make gold. God bless cheap airfares.

Doing Sydney to Rockhampton here as well, also because I'd never been there (and you can be sure there'll be a rental car waiting for me at the airport too from the comments I've read here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif).

Just got back from ROK, from the previous round of specials. Head to Yeppoon - the Rydges resort there isn't bad at all (if a little OTT) - certainly livelier than Rockhampton was on a Sat arvo, when we arrived.

The consensus from the office is "get out of Rocky". Either in a rental car or a B52. I'll take the rental car option (though I wonder if I could borrow the B52 in the DRW air museum)?
