RATZ. Amazon *never* has promos; they're never on BonusPointsMall, AAdvantageEshop, etc., and apparently I'm only signed up for AmExcursions via email. Sigh.

Once you log in, on the right side of the page is the Account Services box, and in it is a link for "Update Email Settings". From there you can enable offers via email.

Yes, but is it only targeted Gold card members or anyone using a Gold card? If you simply make the required purchase and checkout using your Gold card it seems like you'd get the bonus, no?

The fine print explicitly states that the offer is good for "solicited card member only." I wouldn't expect the bonus points if you didn't get the offer directly.

No, it says "targeted only."
Amex is pretty good at discriminating non-targeted purchases.

isnt that effectively 20% a $50 purchase though? Not too bad.
I also received this. Coworker just got a similar offer for SPG Amex, and I'm crossing my fingers that I get one for that too

Yeah but the cost of 1000MR is 25. So MR would have been a better value.

I wonder if you can buy items sold by other vendors on the amazon.com site and receive the bonus? For example, stuff sold by target.

I got the offer as well finally but not for my gold card, Delta Card or Starwood Card but instead for my Hilton HHonors card which I haven't used in several months. My offer is 1000 hilton hhonors points for $50 in spend by March 31, 2008 at amazon. Clearly the membership rewards or cashback offers are more attractive then the Hilton HHonors points but I will probably still take advantage of this offer as I have several things I need to buy at amazon anyway.

Does purchasing a gift card qualify for this promo?

Mar 29, 08, 10:36 pm
So I received the 1500MR for $50 Amazon spend email on my Plat. And I placed an order from Amazon totaling $57. But Amazon has broken it into multiple shipments and has billed my AmEx separately for each shipment. So no charge of $50 or more appears on my AmEx. But if I go to Amazon and request an order invoice, it shows the full $57 for the total order.
The promo says "single purchase transaction", not "single item."
Has anyone obtained clarification from AmEx about this issue? I dread trying to get an answer from CS about this, so I'm hoping someone has done the hard work for me already :)

Do they show up differently in the points statement?
I rarely look at my MR statement and I'll admit that I have no idea how it works, but I see two different postings for 4/5/08 and neither are for the total of my bill the previous month or anything else I can figure out. Oh well.

I made my purchase the 30th of March. Amazon charged about 1/2 on the 30th and the the balance on the 2nd April on my Plt. I wonder if they will give me the 1500 MR? I forgot Amazon did charges that way.
I thought the MR points did not show up until after your statement closed?
