Hi, unfortunately the knowledge about this chain is very limited. I am looking at whether I should rent something or pay hotel Mon-Thu every week (3 nights only)
City is Fort McMurray in Alberta so there are very few choices and steep prices. Around $1000 in rent.
Looking at the Super 8 there and like the free breakfast.

I need to figure out how I can maximize my earnings etc. Have a few questions:

What tier hotel is this
Do the airline ticket redemptions earn real FF miles?
Any elite program? Or always 10 points/dollar?
Can I book the room on Expedia.com to get TY points as well?
Can I earn 2% MrRebates in addition to the TY points on Expedia.com?
I can access US credit cards as well as CDN so I am flexible and can earn decent rewards through credit cards.

I am looking at 15 weeks with three nights in each, so 45 nights in total for the summer. (Great holiday, I know)

Thanks for any input you have at all.
I wish there was a Four Points here...

Admittedly their T&Cs are a bit hard to find on their site, but here's a direct link:

https://www.triprewards.com/services/terms/

In there, among other things:

"TripRewards points, airline miles or rail points will not be awarded when stays are associated with any of the following non-qualified rates: Employee, Travel Agent, group, wholesale, package Transportation/crew and other special contact rates, or free night stays. Most rates available through tour operators and travel websites (excluding triprewards.com and the Participating Hotel Chain websites) such as Priceline, Hotwire, Travelocity, and Orbitz are wholesale rates and therefore do not qualify to earn TripRewards points, airline miles or rail points. Other specific non-qualifying rates for stays ï€.at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts properties include Wyndham Vacations inventory booked through Expedia (rates opaque to member), domestic wholesale rates, international wholesale rates and family rates."

Expedia is just likie Travelocity and Orbitz, so to me it seems it's cearly not eligible. (Nor is it these days in most other hotel point programs!)

I'm not sure what you mean by "whatt tier". Super 8 is a lower midline, a la a Comfort Inn in the Choice group, for example. As with most hotels in the ower midline space (no matter which hotel familiy), quality can vary substantially from one location to antoher. It is recommended that you use TripAdvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com) to research the quality of a particular locaiton with such lower midline chains.

There doesn't seem to be an elite program yet (but then, TripRewards is even newer than Choice Priveleges and Best Western's Gold Crown Club International, yet those two only implemented elite levels in the last couple years, and occupy a similar "space".)

However, that doesn't mean you always earn just 10 points, because there are promos. Currently there is a double points/miles promo but you have to register, and it has some limitations.

One thing that's been pointed out in another thread here is that you can get more miles by earning points and then converting to miles than by earning miles directly, because of the conversion ratios being so good. So even if you want miles, you proabbly want to earn points on the stays. (And yes, those are real miles, in a gradually increasing list of participating airlines, that you can earn or convert into. But I'm not sure what you mean by "airline ticket redemptions"?)

On their website it says you can use x amount of points for a free ticket in usa (up to $350) for instance.

By tier, I mean what amount of points you need to redeem there. (Reward Category)

Well, it appears that you can't see that if you don't have enough points to redeem.

If you do a Redeem search, it lets you specify which tiers you want to search for. So if you had enough points to redeem at least one night at any tier, you could figure out the redemption tier that way.

I suppose if it's just one hotel you want to find out about the simplest way might be to call TripRewards Customer Service and ask?

I have about 19,000 points sitting in my trip rewards account, so I can search for any tier. According to the redemption page it takes 10,000 points for every night so $1,000 gets you one free night.
