Air New Zealand Air Points - Strange question about AKL airport...

I have a strange question...I am visiting relatives in NZ next month, and they have asked me to bring quite a few things from the States (including one very large item). Unfortunately, I visit them after tooling around on holiday for 2 weeks, so I don't necessarily want to carry all of this stuff around the entire time.

I was thinking of packing the items in a box and shipping the box from AKL (I have a 4 hour layover). From the AKL airport website, it appears that there are places to buy stamps and post boxes, but I'm wondering if the post boxes are big enough to accommodate a parcel.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

No they are not. Standard post box good for envelopes. No post office either.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of!

If you're returning via Auckland perhaps you could use the affordable luggage storage desk at AKL airport?

The AKL airport pretty much sucks when it comes to such basic business services ...

There's a DHL office fairly close by at the corner of Laurence Stevens & Hape Drive. That's what I've used on occasion. Othertimes I've sweet-talked/bribed a Bluecoat :)

There's also a sad "Florist and Post Shop" at the Airport Shopping Centre. While the ASC is near the airport, it's not at the airport. The Florist Shop has very limited hours however and is only open M-F. If you were going to use the Florist/Post shop, I'd suggest contacting them in advance.
