Can Star Gold members use the Domestic Lounges in Auckland and Christchurch?

And they are well worth a visit! Even with deep discount (non-mileage earning) domestic tickets, you can visit the lounge. :)

Yes as long as departing on Air NZ same day (same rule applies worldwide except in USA).

Will be flying ANZ from Auckland to Invercargill (via Christchurch) - we will check out both lounges!!!!

And Invergargill has a Koru lounge too -- not elegant, but nicer than main waiting area. Happily accepted my UA*G card on more than one occasion. No problem at ChCh or Wellie. However, you can't get to Koru lounge at AKL domestic if your outbound is regional (eg TRG).

No - no problem with regional flights gaining access to the AKL Koru Club. Security don't care where (or if) you're flying. I've occasionally gone into the lounge when not traveling...

Exactly. No problem using the lounge. The only thing to be aware of is often by the time the prop flight is called in the lounge you have to really rush immediately if you don't want a "Will Mr Kiwi Flyer please proceed immediately to gate 4x as your flight is waiting to depart." type call over the PA. Even rushing this call often occurs when I am just entering the prop gate lounge area.

Passing through WLG Koru club tonight and noticed they have put up a floor plan for the refurbishment. Was running late so didn't stop to have a good look.

You are going to run into one major problem. You will be forever spoiled by the Koru Club Lounges and will be forever disappointed by RCCs.
