I am interested in renting a car out of LAS for two weeks in July. Thrifty says they charge $10 for all additional drivers. Does anyone know of which car companies do not charge for the spouse to be a driver? It makes a big difference in the price for two weeks! Any other tips for renting a car in Vegas would be helpful. Thanks!

Welcome to FT, CLBAJB!
I know for sure that Enterprise does not charge for spouses. I can't definitively say for any other companies, since I've heard both ways at various locations with many of them--it depends on the individual locations, especially if they're franchised (policies are usually more consistent among corporate-owned locations).
Best of luck!

I found Alamo doesn't. They gave me a decent rate, but I'll keep checking and see what else is out there.

Rented a Thrifty at KOA last week and they said that the spouse charge was $10.00 (at first I thought the clerk meant $10.00/day, but it was for the whole week.) I protested the fee and she said she was happy to waive it.

CarylIf you rent at Alamo through Costco there is a free 2nd driver, but generally there is a charge. Here is a 2006 article from CNN about 2nd driver charges. http://tinyurl.com/nvswf
