I'll be traveling economy on JFK-ICN, which is apparently a 747-400 route. Seatguru.com mentions that some Korean Air 744s have power plugs in economy. Does anyone know if this route uses those updated planes? Also, if so, are there specific seats I should look to be assigned to, and is there a special adapter/plug I'll need? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Good question. I am flying JFK - ICN in business and was wondering the same.

Almost all, expect for some, have the Power Ports throughout the entire plane.

Are they regular outlets or plane power ports where you need an adapter?

Thanks

I think it's safe to assume that JFK-ICN KE flights are operated with newly fitted 744s with new seats that feature regular power plugs (in F and C), but I am not sure if Y features such thing.

The 747 I took from JFK-ICN in early February did not have power in Y. But it did have the great VIS.

December 2006 and Jan. 2007 in Y.. I flew KE37 ORD-ICN and the ICN-ORD.. The flight out to ICN had Power Port for laptops. and it was also the last month of Internet Service, so I got to surf for free. I hope something like this is brought back soon!

It all depends on what plane you get. I was on a 747 combo and a 744 last week (HKG-ICN, ICN-NRT) in J and they did not have power ports at all.

The stewardesses were completely baffled when I asked for a powerport leading me to believe that they are not as common as one would think. Also, the website claims that all seats in J at least have it, but that is not true
