Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - Syrian Domestic Flights

I'm looking to make a reservation for some internal Syrian flights on Syrian Arab Air, not for convenience, but just for the aircraft they fly. I'm looking to fly from Latakia to Damascus on a YAK40. OW the flight is 15$ all in.

They also fly from Aleppo on Tupolevs for 24$ OW all in.

I think they earn RJ miles (which maybe I could get credited to AA?)

Anyone with any experience with Syrian Arab?

From any feedback I've had from local collegues in the region it would be AVOID, AVOID AVOID or else brace brace brace for one hell of an experience. hehehe

I have personally seen some of their 'classic' aircraft at various Gulf airports and you couldn't pay me enough to board one of those prehistoric examples-all looking very unhealthy indeed.

Mighty appealing indeed!? Needless to say I rest my case.

PS I'm amazed some secret police officer didn't crash tackle you to the ground trying to take the pics of the ac.
