American Express Membership Rewards - Is MR hotel point transfer option gone for US based cards?

I have very little MR points that I've been accumulating since Freshmen year at college (2000) and have about 22K points (from student AMEX card). I would like to transfer these points to my HH account so that I can have enough HH points for AXON award in Maldives. But this option is not shown on the US website. Is there away to do this???!

Most likely you have an American Express credit card (Blue, Optima, The Knot or The Nest). These cards participate in Membership Rewards Express. Express points cannot be transferred to any other program. However, if you apply for a Green or Gold charge card you will participate in the full Membership Rewards program, and all your points, including the ones you have already accumulated, will be eligible to transfer.
