Marriott Rewards - Newport Beach Marriott or Laguna Cliffs

Hi, Trying to decide between these two hotels that have availablity at the end of March. Newport Beach Marriott or Laguna Cliffs Marriott? Which is nicer, which one would you choose? Thanks!

I would go to the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa, no question! Walking distance to Newport Center and beaches, right on the golf course. The Suites are near the Airport in a office park area. Enjoy

I'm sure it wasn't meant as such, but the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa is NOT within walking distance of the beach, however it IS only a brief drive to Newport Beach or Corona del Mar (and many rooms have views, although distant, of the water). Having stayed at both properties I would choose the Newport Marriott over the Laguna Cliffs property. LC is quite dated (although not to the point where it's unpleasant) and the staff isn't particularly friendly. Everyone I've dealt with at the Newport property (with the exception of a single room service deliverer) has been pleasant and friendly and the views are nice if you get a golf course/ocean view. Parking is a bit pricey at both properties, however if you stay at the Newport Beach Hotel and Spa, you can park for free across the street in the mall parking lot.
