They got it right! Last week was the first time that I got my SW half point automatically. In the past I have had to fax my receipt in to SW. Dollar in Harlingen has gotten their stuff together... at least this time...

Dollar's computer system is in desperate need of updating. Individual franchise locations must manually run a report for all loyalty program credits and transmit that report to DTG. If they forget to do that...too bad for you.
I'm not sure if Dollar corporate locations do any better, although I would hope so, since their computer system is centralized.
Strangely, Thrifty franchises don't need to do this--every night, DTG dials into the franchise's systems and downloads the posted rental agreements, so there should be less of a problem or delay getting credit from Thrifty. Apparently, DTG is still working in merging the Dollar and Thrifty back-end computer systems...even after 10 years. (This is also evidenced by Thrifty Blue Chip versus Dollar Express, where while the programs are nearly identical, Thrifty will automatically generate a number and profile for you immediately, while Dollar must manually process your information when you sign up or update your profile.)
