Me and my wife will take F class from Melbourne to Singapore on OW. Can someone recommend which carrier should we take and which seats. We both have travelled on CX and BA's F class but never on QF.
Could somebody know about menu's or champagne what their offer ?

Having never flown in F - budget only extends to J and Y (with upgrades) I can't tell you about the ACTUAL experience, so I will leave that to others. You might want to check out the "Trip Reports" forums both here and at Airliners (http://www.airliners.net/)
For what you can expect to get - and there is a link to a menu, you might want to look at the appropriate section of the Qantas site (http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/inTheAir/internationalFirst) - the menu is here (http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/flying/inTheAir/firstMenu.pdf).

Qantas First Class seats are the same as BA's, just laid out differently in the cabin. I do prefer QFs catering to BAs. If you like BAs 1st, then I would do for QF

Recently BA has been markedly better in F than QF (based on my flights since summer 2002). BA had problems last spring but rebounded and F service is generally quite good. If you care about wine BA uses better quality wines (though not as good as CX). Krug is almost always available (QF is serving champagnes that cost less than half the Krug price). The food quality is a bit variable by route and time of day, but overall the same as QF. Accoutrements (cabin condition, eyeshades etc.) are much higher quality than QF, not to mention the First BAg (toiletry kit in a box made by Anya Hindmarch and sold in her London boutique for over 100 pounds sterling). I wish QF were comparable to BA, but they are not. I've only flown MEL-SIN on SQ so I can't compare BA and QF on that route, but I imagine BA will be true to form and consistently better than QF.

Thank you very much. This was just the kind of imformation I was looking for. So my choice will be BA. If were travelling together, which seats would you choose ?

Try dropping a line on the BA board - they are extremely whingy and fussy over there so should be able to give you many suggestions...

4EF or 5EF are probably the best - assuming you like talking to one another.
If not, you might consider 1A and 5K
