I've just bee shopping around for this fare so far Flight Center and QF offer the same price of $12600.00. Is this all there is or are there better agents out there that can offer the ticket for less or the same but be FF friendly with wonderful routings?

Both of the above agents have looked at me like I just came from Mars when I said I liked flying and didn't mind flying to SFO from JFK to get to LHR. Did I say something wrong?

Advice appreciated.

I presume you a looking at a OWE fare. If you got to the OW forum you will find that someone has posted links to all the OWE prices by continent.

They also have some quite good tips for making sure you max out your miles.

If you go to the British Airways Australia website, you can download a .pdf file with all the prices for all classes for RTW trips. It is under the fares section somewhere.

Cheers

If you work for a large corporation with an agreement with a major travel agency, you may be able to book personal travel through them. At our place, we get 5% of published QF domestic fares and 7% of published international fares. This is through the agreement with the corporate travel agency and not the airline directly.

7% off $12,000 is worth keeping in your pocket.

Does that mean that all FTers can now use the NM ticketing service? '-)

Well. I seem to have recieved a bargain in that case. Sadly I have no major company contract. So it's get what I can.

Going forward, I was thinking of going LHR-SIN on QF but then thought, Hmmm, CX to HKG. Never flown CX but they seem to come highly recommended by just about everyone. If I do that do I still get the same SC's as QF and BA metal or are they different with CX?

Thanks to the respondents above.

Status credits are the same - but you won't get your points status bonus - just the cabin bonus.

That could mean around 21,000 points foregone if you're Platinum.

Have you checked the web site www.bestflights.com.au (http://www.bestflights.com.au) that was recommended by ozstamps?
This is a good source for fare information and routing ideas.
They have a OW fare including concorde for $12099. There is also a First Class fare for $11679 using some of the OW carriers.

Glad I'm with *Alliance - so much cheaper http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Unfortunately no. Must be an employee. But, the point I am making is that many large organisations have this same arrangement with their corporate travel agencies, so it is worth looking into if you have a corp travel department/agency.

Perhaps I could resell the arrangements and make a quid out of it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif??
