Have any idea that how does it works? depends the stay records or points earned records?

Hyatt status is night /stay count based and you don't have enough stays (4 + 1 award stay? + 1 stay in 2008) for the diamond status.

I think you got lucky. Enjoy.

The qualification is from last year, and not 2008. Otherwise, the membership will be through 2010

Received something similar last year in May after falling from Diamond grace, but with no explanation at all. Just a card in the mail.

After pressing Hyatt for an explanation I was told indirectly that it might be a second-chance thing after having been Diamond five years in a row. Does that sound like your circumstances?

Mrs. Jayer thinks it was all a fortunate accident, but if they were trying to woo me back it worked. I've been out in the sticks this year, but drove past the Fairfields to pay more at Hyatt Place whenever possible. Life is more fun with a Diamond card, and I'm trying to lock it up for 2009 early.

Yes. but he still does not have enough stays from 2007.

like jayer said, he was probably given a second chance.

Here's my stay records since 2005 (http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5937/gphistorymk7.jpg)

My Diamond membership starts from 2006 so it should be expire on Feb. of 2008.

I guess I am lucky to get this offer from Hyatt to continue my diamond membership for one more year! :D

I think they are trying to encourage you to repeat your 2005 stay pattern! ;)

It is just funny reading the "statement". My base and bonus columns are the exact opposite. :D :D :D Very light on the base and extremely heavy on the bonus side.

Think you just got lucky - don't push your luck, just keep your head down and enjoy the status. I have been Diamond since '95 and was told if I hit 24 stays I would be Platinum...
