Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Questions about SQ 11

I am booked on the SQ 11 from LAX to SIN via NRT next week in economy and wanted to know a few things. If any of you could help, I would be extremely appreciative.
1. Are there power ports on the 747-400's from LAX?
2. Is there enough time to get off the plane at NRT?
3. Is there a Star Alliance Gold lounge at NRT?
4. Is there enough time to take a quick shower at NRT?
Again, I would be extremely appreciative if any of you could please assist me with this.

1 I do not believe there are.
2 You will get off, clear security, then go to your depart gate. About 1hr 10min.
3 Yes
4 If you are very quick and showers are not in use.

1. I don't really know. I haven't flown SQ Y.
2. You will have to deplane at NRT.
3. You'll have access to NH lounge as well as UA RCC.
4. Depends on your shower habit. :p

Thank you friends, your answers are appreciated.
One last question. For those of you that typically take the SQ11 from LAX - Is the same aircraft used from the inbound from LAX or is it a different 744?
Many Thanks,
Global Express

I have a question re: seat assignment on SQ11.
Would that be possible to have different seat assignment on LAX-NRT and NRT-SIN, or not (since it's under the single flight number)?
It looks there are better (preferable) seats available on the LAX-NRT segment than on NRT-SIN on the day I am planning to fly. My calls which were answered by the friendly agents in ICC  were not successful. If they're telling me the truth, that's fine. But as soon as they told me, "Sir, you must remain on the a/c at NRT since the stop is made only to accommodate those who will be flying from NRT to SIN." I started to suspect their creditability.
Will a single boarding pass (LAX-SIN) be issued or two (LAX-NRT and NRT-SIN) when I check in at LAX?
Appreciate your input.

Unless something has changed recently, you will be issued a single boarding pass in LAX for LAX-SIN. In NRT, you will need to show the stub to reboard the plane.

I've flown SQ11 four times in the past year and every time I was able to arrange different F seats for each segment at the airport.
Simply ask at check-in and they'll note your preferences in the computer, and then write the first segment seat on the BP as "3K to NRT."
The LAX-NRT flights usually have 4-5 pax out of 12 in F, and NRT-SIN are usually full.
I also like to Book-the-Cook from NRT-SIN only, as the onboard choices are a bit unsavory for my taste.

That's exactly the situation and your answer is very helpful - thanks, macabus! As for BTC, I actually requested LAX-NRT only (hoping the catering is better exNRT), but I wonder if I should change it...?

I find the catering out of LAX is usually pretty good, and typically have a good steak or rack of lamb from the menu.
The food from NRT is good, but they usually don't have a fish dish on the menu, and at that point I like something light - like the pan roasted sea bass with spinach pasta.
It's personal preference though... Check out the menus and decide for yourself.
Keep in mind that because of light loads from LAX, the FAs will usually let you have several different entrées.

I schedule to fly SQ 11 LAX-NRT and continue on to TPE on UA in C on award ticket.
Wondering if possible to get advance seat assignment for non-SQ elite, preferrably upper-deck exit row?
The connection at NRT to TPE is extrememly short (50 min). Haven't been through NRT for more than 1 year now but recall I always need to go though security check when make connection at NRT. Any advise or experience from FTeres made this connection before is greatly appreciated!

You mean row 17? Possible for 17H and 17K.
Can't help with your other question.

1. No
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. No (unless you are in F or C)
The transit time is only 1 hour 10 mins. I was in F on this flight in November and was the first off the plane. Took a damm quick shower in the ANA F lounge and came back to find that they were already boarding.

I was on this flight a few weeks ago when there was a 220 knot headwind and we were running almost two hours behind schedule.
I was just about to turn the shower handle when a little voice inside my head said "get back to the plane." So I abandoned my usual NRT shower and headed back to find a very rushed boarding.

A/C are reserved for PPS members. Sometimes you can get them at check in

I will be travelling on SQ12 SIN-LAX in May in Y and is wondering whether what the loads usually are between NRT and LAX. I understand it's probably full between SIN and NRT but will it be better on the transpac part? Can I hope to have a free seat next to me?

Of course!
