For those of you who have seen this month's AF Magazine, the "breakfast onboard a SuperConstellation" looks very much like a skysuite to me. Same with catering.

What's the point of AF publishing an article that could have been titled "AF, 40 years of going downward ?" They don't need to look further for source of improvement to their product, it's all over AF Mag... :D

Yes, the pictures are fantastic, especially the old-style barman with a white tuxedo making the cocktails in the boeing 707 lounge. :D Same for the steward and the hôtesse de l'air carving the lobster in the first class cabin. :p

Communicating on how great the Good Old Days were is a bit touchy though. People can't help thinking how things have changed. It is widely admitted that today's business class seats are more comfortable than first class seats of the 70's but when it comes to service and style, nothing seems to beat the "Parisien Spécial" days.

The shelves covered with pastries ready to be loaded on board aircrafts flying to Mauritius, Chicago, Rio, Tokio, Athens and Moscow tell a lot about medium haul catering of the past too...

Ah, the 707 lounge... I had to read twice to be sure they were not speaking of a pre-boarding bar, but the in-plane one. And service from the trolley, not on pre-arranged plates like the youngsters do... (and some airlines still do...)

You're right, yummy pastries. To be faire to AF, the cruising speed of an A320 is 167% the cruising speed of a superconstellation, so these flights to Moscow and Athens took longer...
