I get home, check my home VM and theres a message from AMEX FR.

my oldest amex is from 8/06 my newest is from 11/07
i have 3 in total
all credit cards
2 business 1 personal
credit lines are 19k(personal) 15k & 22K(business)
spent over 90K on amex last year and paid in full every month
one of the business cards is a 0% card that expires in 2 weeks so it will be paid off in full. current balance on that card is 14.5k
my business card with 22k limit is currently carrying 21.5k of recent business purchases so i figure this is what triggered the call from FR.

I called the number but they were closed.
After reading FT and the dreads of FR on some other boards i was contemplating closing the accounts and to hell with Amex!

I called this morning and was told that they had a few questions for me :(
they asked if i rent or own my home and asked what year my business was incorporated.
they also asked to verify ONE charge with me.

THAT WAS IT!!!!

they said thank you and have a good day.

i guess this was not the full FR but maybe if people provide them with the information they are requesting then the full bend over style FR can be avoided

They don't ask for tons of information because folks stonewall when asked to verify a charge.

You gave them the info they wanted from you. Awesome that that was all. ^

I go through the Amex Financial Review every year. They're pleasant enough, they usually ask me if I want more credit. I tell them no. But last year they gave me a substantial six-figure bump in available credit anyway.

It sounds more like a fraud alert than a financial review. The own/rent and year incorporated questions may have just been to establish it was you, and the charge in question may have triggered an alert of some type.

the phone number specifically said you have reached the amex financial review department

with regards to the charge, it is a vendor that i have spent $20K with this year and they are a HUGE well known company.

hey im not complaining, i thought it would be much worse ;)
