Starwood Preferred Guest - Starwood Hawaii: Value in Paradise

Starwood Hawaii ran an ad in today's Seattle Times. The ad announces a new Value in Paradise Program. The web site is:

Appears the prices only apply when using the above links or by calling (866) 716-8140 and ask for special rate code VALPAR at the 12 Starwood Hawaii resorts.

I did pick some dates to check the rates. It appears that the rates are even lower the the SPG 35% Resort Discount in Hawaii. Appears only non-view rooms are available for the reduced price. Not all dates are available for this rate. Good until 01/07/2009.

In checking out this offer, I found unrelated rates at the Sheraton Maui in early May from just $179.10 AAA or $199 BAR. Oceanfront rooms run about $100 more.

Probably depends on the date. I did find mid-May at the Princeville. 2Q/Mountain View, Best Available $455. AAA $409.50. Value in Paradise $360.

They are even cheaper through SVO vacations. 5 nights + Avis for $749. That gets parking lot view. :(

Even without this promo, I found the Sheraton for ~180ish/nite in early May...at that rate, it was too cheap to burn starpoints, but I didn't wanna drop that much coin for 8 nights. Ended up booking back-to-back AXONs at the Hilton Waikoloa Village instead.

Not sure about other dates, but I do like that property:)

I just did a few searches and most of the properties I looked at were available for less than then valueinparadise.com rate.
