Hi,
Can anyone tell me how often Starwood runs this special? I'm looking to fly to England next year and am not sure whether to build up my BA miles or Starwood. I live in the USA. Is it wise to save Starwood miles for next year and hope they still offer 20,000 plus 5,000 bonus? Thanks.

The 5k bonus on 20k transfers has been going on for a while. IMO, you should be more concerned about the 30% bonus on BA transfers that's on until the end of March. It's effectively a 62.5% bonus on your transferred SPG points.
20,000 Starpoints converts to 25,000 miles on many, many airlines. This is a feature of the Starwood Preferred Guest program, not specific to British Airways and not a temporary promotion. While everything in loyalty programs is subject to change, Starwood has an excellent trackrecord of providing ample notice.

Try this one: Get 30% more BA Miles for your Starpoints (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/starwood30ec/public/en_ca?EM=DEC_07_ES_O15) from BAs website.
Hi, and thanks for your replies. Anyway, the 30% extra conversion miles offer, does anyone know how often they do that. I can definitely build loads of miles by next year, but don't won't to miss out on the extra 30%. Is it offered more than once a year? If it's not, I'll transfer by March 31 and then concentrate on building my BA milage. Thanks again.:)

For the last few years it has been offered only once, right around the beginning of the year. (December-March time frame.)
A few years ago it was double miles, which considering the 5K bonus SPG adds to every 20K you transfer, meant that you could transfer 40K SPG points and end up with 100K BA miles. Talk about sweet!
But, alas, the next year it dropped to 50% bonus match. Still good, but certainly not double!
Now it's a 30% match. There is no guarantee BA will even offer this again, so the safest bet is to transfer what you need over in BA by the end of the month.
