Several rough edges:

- Outside doors are locked 24x7. Given the area and street people, I
understand why the doors are locked. But the card readers for guests to
swipe their room keys to enter the bldg do not work. I've been here
four [4] nights ... 11 different room keys ... none of them will open the
outside doors. Everyone else that I've met is having similar problems.
Front Desk is uninterested and unresponsive.

- Parking attendant and Front Desk cannot agree on what documentation
is required to secure the guest-rate for parking a car. Each says the other
is "wrong." Neither is willing to talk with the other to work out the matter,
leaving the guest in the middle of an employee spat ... that costs the guests
extra money.

- Room keys. I've been here four [4] days. They've got a problem
creating room keys that will actually open rooms. I'm on my eleventh
[11th] room key in four [4] days. Today alone, I made four [4] separate
trips to the Front Desk to get a key that would open my room door. Only
1:6 keys they made this afternoon will actually open the room door. None
of them will open either of the outside doors.

- Reserved a king room. Given a double room. Promised a king when one
became availble. Been here four [4] days ... lots of people checking in/out.
The king room I booked, never seems to become available.

- Diamond welcome/acknowledgement. None. Nada. Nyet. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Bupkus.

Sounds like their key coder isn't working.

But I guess they were ok with that, too.

Have you called the Diamond Desk?

What type of "welcome acknowledgment" are you expecting?

A friendly, "Hello." Or perhaps a, "Welcome back."

Does Hilton monitor this site? Or; is it simply serendipity?

~30 minutes after making my posting, a FD supv contacted me
and advised that they will repair the card key readers for outside
access.

Also offered to waive 1:6 nights ... I did not hint or request this.
It is a generous offer, but I'm still inclined to pay for my full six [6]
nights.

Yes, I am aware of the Hampton Guarantee. Never yet had to
invoke it. Once threatened to use it at check-out when the
night-shift/auditor insisted on doubling the rate I initialed at
check-in. I gave her the choice of collecting the amount on
the check-in card, or $0. She chose to collect the initialed
amount.

Must be an interesting coincidence on the contact, as I don't see much reason to believe that anybody from Hilton lurks here.....
