You can only transfer points in via Amex (either mebership rewards, or the B6 Amex). Most airlines don't allow you to transfer points out of their programs. magiciansampras Feb 26, 08, 6:23 pm You're not able to transfer TrueBlue points to any other programs. There are a variety of ways with other airlines (through Amtrak, through hotel programs, points.com, etc.). jetBlueNYFL Feb 26, 08, 8:29 pm That's not really true at all. Travel partners is another story. magiciansampras Feb 26, 08, 8:31 pm The OP asked about transferring points to other airlines. Travel partners is another story. You can transfer to other airlines through travel partners. Lots of folks transfer from Airline A to Airline B through Amtrak, for instance. Just because you can't do this on B6, don't assume other airlines don't allow this possibility. jetBlueNYFL Feb 26, 08, 8:34 pm You can transfer to other airlines through travel partners. What you suggest is more of a 'loophole' that smart FTers know how to work their way around. Besides travel partners and/or alliances (which, unfortunately jetBlue is not a part of any), I am not aware of any two or more airlines that allow direct transfer of points/miles between the two programs. dinosims Feb 26, 08, 8:36 pm I know with some programs you can transfer points out. That's why I said with most programs, and not all. magiciansampras Feb 26, 08, 8:36 pm Did I assume? What you suggest is more of a 'loophole' that smart FTers know how to work their way around. The question: "I have some jetblue points, but I want to transfer to other airlines, therefore I can accrue miles for reward tickets." The answer: No, and on most airlines you can't either. The reality: You can on lots of airlines, but it requires an additional step. It's not a loophole. The airlines know about it; United certainly did. magiciansampras Feb 26, 08, 8:36 pm I know with some programs you can transfer points out. That's why I said with most programs, and not all. Again, I don't think that's necessarily true among the majors in the US, but that's a rather small point. j3823x Feb 26, 08, 9:46 pm Webflyer can be used to determine how some points could be transferred between programs. http://www.webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/ |
