Wyndham Rewards (formerly TripRewards) - BRG lowest available room category rate only?

Just wondered whether the BRG only applies to the lowest available room category or whether it can be applied to any room category.

Let us say that a particular property on TR has a 2 double bed/smoking available for $90 and a King/non-smoking available for $100 and that the very same two categories are available on another website for $85 and $95.

Now, I would prefer to have the BRG appplying to the King/non-smoking and therefore book that one for $100 rather than the double/smoking at $90), and send a claim based on the availability of the same room type at $95 elsewhere.
Could TR reject the BRG on the ground that they have an alternative lower rate (albeit for a different room type)? The T&Cs on the TR site are rather ambiguous on this.

The BRG applies to exactly the same room. So yes, if you can get a king size as opposed to two doubles, or even better and my favourite, a suite, as long as you can find a lower rate for exactly that type of room on an alternate site, you should be fine.

I always go for the "best" possible room I can get, of course.

As long as the second website is based on double occupancy and not single (which often accounts for those $5 differences) you should be fine.

I've actually managed a jacuzzi king suite on a BRG. :)
