What does the corporate discount mean when my company reserves a room for me? I compare the rates that I'm scheduled to pay with the posted rates, and there's no difference.
Thank You
Thank You

If it is a large national account (Accenture, IBM, etc), then there is a major account signed that can be either fixed room rate or variable (%off or like). Sometimes there are exceptions (NYC) or floors/ceilings and all other fun things. If you are a part of a fairly smaller company that does not qualify for a national/regional account, then you are probably routed via the e-advantage program, which basically gives you a couple percent discount points. Amex Corp Travel - I am not sure what they get you. I know that I am usually able to book the best rate using my AAA card, no matter how silly it may sound, it is true. Hope this helps sorry for the scarce details - as much as I can give with the lack of there of in the original post. PHL Feb 23, 08, 10:25 am I'm with a large global company and we have negotiated discounts at the major chains, but they vary by city. The internal travel booking engine we use to reserve hotels/flights/cars has our discount built in for any of those. But for hotels it also shows us published rates, including prepaid, AAA, etc. Many times the other available rates are lower so I don't end up booking the corporate rate. |
