I'm taking my first Gulf Air flight next week (Mar 1: LHR-BAH-KTM).

I haven't heard very much about the airline and wondered if anyone who's familiar with it could offer some comments/suggestions.

It was booked for me, and I'm a little disappointed that I can't put the miles on OnePass or Aeroplan. They'll end up orphan miles on AA.

Thanks in advance for any comments!

You'll need to be more specific if you want help. Class of travel would be a good start. Amenities vary dramatically between all three classes.

You might try a search - if you haven't - there is quite a bit about GF on this forum.

As for rmiles, you can also deposit them in VS Flying Club, if that helps.

Hi karns,
There has been a bit of discussion on GF (most notably from NoY) here and I'd follow the advice above re. VS or AA (if this is useful to you).

Gulf Air's premium cabin food offering is great (and continued to be, AFAIK) with Sky Chef.

Cedar Jet is my best source on GF, though his work no longer involves travel as frequently to the ME and hence fewer reports from this very informative source. (G'day 'Mr N'! :D)

I'll do a search again to try to improve the Trip Report sticky (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=792412)at the top of this forum.
Please keep checking here and add your own Trip Report once you have time.
I'd like to know about the entire experience.
Be warned that customer service in BAH is a completely alien concept, so you're going to be better off if you know what to do (such as how to arrange a transit hotel in BAH, on GF, if the stopover is long enough) and how to get it.
Otherwise you may get sweet FA.

If you're in J or F or otherwise have access, enjoy the GF lounge. I love it!

There are some other sources available through searching online, but I hope that youcan get a preview of your expected services here on FT!
