Nothing really all that new in the article (other than that AS/WN are using a sattelite-based technology, which I didn't know, but that doesn't mean it is new :p). Oh, and the FAQ-type style of the article is great, including the questions about downloading porn, peer-to-peer networks and iTunes libraries.

That being said, this is the first article I've seen that seems to do a decent job of differentiating between the LiveTV service and actual internet access, though they do gloss over it a bit.

There are significantly more aircraft that are going to be equipped with these services (at least LiveTV and AirCell). Also, they are much less expensive to operate, both for the airlines and the network operators. I'd expect these to survive OK.
