Hertz - PC members - what car class do you normally rent?

As a 5*, I always rented Midsize cars with NL - now, as a Pres Circle member, I've noticed that when I rent midsize, I get upgraded, but sometimes its to a car such as a fullsize Chevy Impala - however, when I rent the full-size cars, I get a much nicer car for just a few bucks extra. Do most Pres Circle members rent the basic cars & work with the guaranteed upgraded - or do you rent nicer cars to get an even better upgrade?

I'm always renting Fun Collection and Prestige Collection and usually don't want/need an upgrade.

I'm sorry to tell you but PC is no great shakes. I get the same upgrades before PC as after PC so my renting pattern is the same.

Pretty much the same with me. Maybe a little bit better treatment - sometimes - with PC, but no difference on the upgrades. However, the qualifying for PC still mystifies me. I rented solid from mid-June 07 through late Jan 08 (with a few weeks off), and didn't get upgraded from 5*. Doesn't renting for more than half the year qualify? Or, do they not like month-long rentals for qualifying... And, after all that, as 5*, I still showed up at DFW for a month-long rental in Dec and found a cloth-seat Corolla waiting for me. Not amused...

You have to call them and get it manually. That way, I got an instant upgrade from nothing to PC.

I always Reserve F and end up with anything from YF(:td:), G, I and the occasional Standard SUV (4Runner, Explorer)

Runs hot and cold for me. For allot of last year, I was renting C, and getting Volvo S40s / Mercedes B200 Turbos, which were great! Then something happened, and I was given Hyundai Sonatas (C4) and Pontiac G6 (D with Neverlost).

I in semi-error rented F this last weekend, and got a nice Lincoln MKZ AWD (I4). I am going to try this a couple more times to see what happens.

This is all at YYZ - I found that I was always given awful service at the downtown locations. The only real benefit to that was that my complaints to Hertz HQ resulted in lots of free coupons...

As I rent 95% at YYZ, I cannot comment on other stations.
