I have a garmin nuvi 200 and need maps for Toronto. Preferably all of north america as the places I travel to cover that.

Anyone got any good places to buy maps?

Also, is it better to buy them preloaded on a SD-card? I'm a Mac user and so far have failed miserably getting any mac software from garmin to work.

Cheers and TIA

Hi Emma 65,
Probably the easiest way is to order directly off the Garmin web site at this link:

http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavntcard.jsp?webpage=%2Fproducts%2Fnuvi200&submit=Go

I would just order the card which will plug into the side of your nuvi 200 and save you the trouble of transferring the data from your Mac to an SD card.

Hope this helps!

Be careful with ordering the maps on a SD card - the maps are only unlocked on that SD card - you cannot back them up anywhere, and if the card corrupts or in some other way is damaged you're farked! Getting it on CD allows you to install and re-install to your unit (or a blank SD card in it) as many times as you want. Blank SD cards are cheap nowadays.

If you're looking for cheap also try ebay.
