Travel Technology - Entourage 2008

Does anyone out there use Entourage 2008? What are your opinions. I had so many problems with Entourage 2004 that I wound up running Outlook under Parallels and consuming half my system resources for one program. 2004 had problems with: (a) syncing notes; (b) screwing up rules (stealing mail half the time); and possibly was the cause of corrupting my Exchange box on the server.

Word 2004 and Excel 2004 are fine. I prefer Office 2003, but they are fine. I run Office 2007 on my Office desktop and prefer it over Word 2004 (Mac), but not as much as Office 2003. Perhaps it is just that old habits die hard and Microsoft is trying to force you to quit the old Office "cold turkey"

I always preferred entourage over mail until I upgraded. It was such a pain to get the whole identity thing working correctly. Finally, I just converted the file to be imported into mail. This might not be an issue for you since you are using an exchange box. I do like the 2008 interface better than 2004.

I have it and use Mail and E2008, I just use 2008 to delete the junk mail off my server. I used to use 2004 on a daily basis till it just had problems day after day. I have grown accustomed to Mail over E. Just a preference I guess you could say.

I love 2008. No issues to speak of, much faster than 2004. It's pretty much like using Outlook 2007. I'm using it with two Exchange accounts, total of about 12000 messages. No performance problems.

How *is* Entourage 2008 with Exchange (especially with Exchange 2003 and not 2007)? What features do you give up?

Second question...can you sync Entourage to Yahoo Calendar? (I do that so friends, etc., can see my schedule if not the details).

Third question ... does Entourage 2008 sync with wm5/6 devices?

You give up nothing that I'm aware of, though I haven't been on Exchange 2003 in a long time.

No idea about Yahoo but I seriously doubt it.

Just a word of warning to folks with Exchange server accounts (like me), Office Family & Student 2008 does not support Exchange server access (other than via imap). You need a higher end package.

I was having calendar issues with Entourage 2004 and Exchange 2000 in that my events were changed from PST to Calsablanca/GMT time zone. All of my appointments would show up a day early. I am hoping 2008 has resolved that issue but can not confirm it yet.

Same here. Entourage 2008 is very reliable and extremely fast on my iMac, even with many memory consuming applications running at the same time. I have all the features I'm used to from Outlook 2007 and I must admit that everything works flawlessly together with our Exchange 2003 server.
