Hertz - One Way Prestige Rental Denver - Los Angeles

In the middle of planning a 2009 ski trip to Denver, Utah and California and working out car requirements etc.

I need the car FROM Denver and returning to Los Angeles

I am after the Escalade or Navigator but as they are Prestige collection the one way rental prices are around $10,000 for a month, but with unlimited KMS............

I assume because of the limited number of prestige cars at DEN they don't want to loose them to other areas? These cars are "Cannot be Booked Online"

I have tried various options but not returning the car to DEN is the same problem

Any ideas around this ?

Don't rent a one way for more than you actually need it. It would be cheaper to rent with start and return city the same, and the subsequently rent a one way for the part you need. It may be more inconvenient, but it will save you money.

Yep worked out I can save a little by renting from Denver, returning to Las Vegas, then starting another rental in Vegas and finishing in Los Angeles.

This is with a Ford Expedition though and not the 4WD's that I want.

I have tried pretty much every combination possible and cannot get a Prestige rental without paying around $10,000 for a month

Most frustrating is this on the Hertz website.

"One-Way Rental Options -- To accommodate your travel plans, most Prestige Collection vehicles can be rented at one Hertz Prestige Collection location and returned to another Hertz Prestige Collection location."

Might call them I think

If you want that type of Prestige rental you are going to have to pay for it.

Personally I'd just rent a Ford Expedition and save yourself some serious cash.

Also worth comparing prices between all the rental companies -- one-way rentals can have huge differences.

I doubt if they want to loose many Prestige SUVs to LAX for the winter ski season.

You may also want to try going 3-one way rentals going DEN-SLC, SLC-LAS and then LAS-LAX. There's a lot more one-way puppies wanting to get back home between SLC and LAS and then LAS and LAX.
