Hertz - Higher prices for #1 Gold Members?

I have been a Hertz #1 Club gold member for about 2 years now. I really enjoy their service.

I have been trying for days to make a MIA reservations for a car Feb 21st - Feb 24th. All the cars are really expensive with the economy ones going for $80. Anyways, just now I tried again without log in to my account, I found all the prices to be half off almost.

I go back, I log on, do the same search and there we go again. A camry for $112. I tried it like 5 times, when I log on to my #1 club gold account, I get the Camry for $112 a day... when I am not logged in, I just reserved it for $58.

Would anyone have any Idea why this would be the case?

I'm not seeing it on my end. Are you using any specific discount or program codes in you base profile? (Mine defaults to AAA rates)

Did you try clearing your cookies and history then retrying?

Try 706900 in the CDP box and see if that works. That should take 20% off the base.

Not seeing it, although it is some hours later for sure. Very bad availability that weekend (some big event?) When I logged out the price got higher. When I put in AAA CDP (215) when logged out, the price went down to the same as AAA CDP when logged in. Thought maybe there was an issue with the time of pickup (can vary with CDP), but that's not it. Doesn't get better even with Friday. 706900 is not any less than AAA, or only small $ amount less.

I dunno how you got it for $58, but good job, take it! Even econo class was not that cheap when I looked just now. Call and have them add your Gold # to your res.

That's a school vacation week, at least in New England. We "all" go to Florida for the week. At least those of us who can afford the inflated airfares and car rental prices.

Just looked at, e.g. TPA, and the rates are similarly shocking high, regardless of whether I'm logged in or not.

I think it has more to do with your dates in mid/late Feb in southern FLA. We're going to FLL 2/23-25 and were shocked with the rates listed for a compact at 110 per day!!! But after checking various discounts AAA etc-- we were able to get it down a bit to $167 for the 2 days (which includes taxes, fee's etc)... That is still MUCH higher than the $20-30 a day we're used to paying in Florida.
