Nice!!! They do look like the 190 seats. Did you take those pics, jetBlueFA? Do you know what tail # that is it in revenue service yet? What's the plan with the existing birds in the fleet? Obviously excluding the 6 being sold this year, will they undergo new cabin features? I think the aisle foot steps are brilliant! Is the pitch going to stay the same, 36" up front, 36" in back? Also, I hope the aisle armrest leaver to pick it up will stay!

I couldn't imagine the already large overhead bins could get any bigger!

Aisle foot steps are a nice touch, looking forward to the new planes.

The pictures where taken by Techops and posted on the crewmember website. The new tail number is N703JB and will go into service on February 15th. I'm not sure what will happen with the rest of the fleet. All 12 deliveries this year will be recieving the new interior. I'd imagine the rest of the fleet will eventually get the upgrade however I wouldn't expect it to come right away as I believe it costs upwards of $100,000 for all the new upgrades (unless LH wants more stock :p )

Adjustments to the rest of the A320 fleet will begin Monday. I assume they'll rotate them out and do them one at a time, as is done with MX, painting, etc.

I think it will take quite a long time to get all the planes completed.

Just an example of a previous upgrade, both planes I flew to/from Aruba last week still didn't have XM radio and new TV screens. That upgrade process was started long ago.

I don't think they will upgrade the rest of the fleet, the enhanced A320 interior is VERY different than the prior model. You are talking a huge undertaking here. The parts alone would be $$$. They will just have 2 versions from here on out.

The XM installs on the A320 take place during one of the checks, so once the remaining planes cycle through they will be installed.

From what we were told, the entire fleet will be upgraded; it may just take some time.

It is a big financial undertaking, but I guess that's justified by the potential for increased revenue, lighter seats, etc.

Having 2 versions would be near impossible with the model JetBlue has proposed, as aircraft swaps are incredibly common. Far too often, customers would be paying for one experience, only to find that it's not available on their flight anymore.

What experience would the new cabin provide that the old one doesn't? It looks mostly like minor upgrades...

Word from communications is that the cabin adjustment "will provide more choice in seat selection to Customers who pay more." What that means, exactly, is anyone's guess, but the rumor going around is that certain rows will be given more leg room. Whether this will be a paid upgrade has not been announced. I assume that if it is, it won't be until later, when the majority of the 320s have been upgraded.

Is this the "enhanced cabin" from the following thread?

I think B6 has gotten new interiors but, it was amazing that I am never see it before new interior by A320. I'm sure when B6 will be refurbishment all entire fleet of A320? It's look exactly different the equipment A330/A340 interiors. I can't wait to see the new birds will be on the air. What about E90 does not need refurbished for this time, am I right?

Caphis- I think we are talking about 2 different things here:

Yes the rumor of a front cabin change is going around.

This new enhanced version of the A320 has nothing to do with that.

I think you will see some changes to legroom etc, monetizing the front. But the 2008 deliveries will will continue to just have this new interior and seats regardless.

Looks nice, but I just really hope the new Recaro seats are better than the seats I've seen them develop before... in general, I'm not impressed AT ALL with the comfort of their designs (though I get how they're lighter/leaner/generally good for the airlines).

Recaro's seats for FL, which the airline brags about, are probably the most uncomfortable seats I've ever experienced.

Here's a clip from the JetBlue news release that came out today:

NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Low-fare, high-value JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq:JBLU) today announces it has taken delivery of its first A320 aircraft to boast a newly redesigned cabin, offering customers improved seat comfort and more personal space. All of the low-cost carrier's scheduled A320 future deliveries, a total of 88 aircraft, will feature these new cabin enhancements.

What a surprise! Boarded jetBlue 57. JFK-PBI late this morning. I noticed from the window then name of the aircraft, "It's up to you, Blue York, Blue York" and the tail number - 703. I said to myself, a tail starting with 7!? Wow, must be REALLY new. Sure enough, I was on the very aircraft discussed in this thread. I know the proposed first revenue flight was 2/15, but I wonder if that actually happened. If not, there's a good chance this was one of the very first!

I'm sorry I did not have a camera with me, but EVERYONE commented while boarding "wow, it smells new!" I sat in 5C and I am aware of the thinner seats, but I must say the legroom felt like 38" of pitch or so. It was definitely more space than with the older seats. The new reading lights are cool also. Downside is I could not figure out how to get the aisle armrest up like on the older version.

New plane smell? I'm actually jealous. Does it smell like a new car?

Sure did. Ferried up from MCO on the 14th to JFK; first revenue flight on N703JB was on the 15th - JFK-FLL flight 69.

Your trip this morning was the 22nd flight. :)

I thought that not all aisle armrests went up, is this not the case?

The new asile arm rest do go up but the button his hidden under the seat cushion on the asile side. We have a picture of it in our manuals.
