Seems like a weird, yet interesting idea:

Maybe now it's time for them to add bagel chips (cinnamin raisin, please) to the snack lineup!

My take: not a good idea PR-wise since Kraft is emblematic of processed food and big corporation - that goes against the healthy food trend and NY mentality. Hope that JBLU got enough money to offset this negativity.

The idea of free meals on an airplane should make us happy, right? After all, most in-flight food has been reduced to a bag of peanuts and the soft drink of your choice. Some airlines don’t even give you that for free (i know you all haggle to get the entire can), and those that offer full meals are fond of charging upwards of $10.
That said, there is something about JetBlue’s new free breakfast giveaway that rubs me the wrong way. The carrier has teamed up with Kraft, and together they will be serving 500,000 free breakfasts to JetBlue passengers. However, as with most things on the airlines these days, there is a catch…
The great breakfast giveaway isn’t a bold customer service move on JetBlue’s part, and it’s not even really a PR move. It’s a way for them to team up with a major food company and turn their passengers into product testers.
As reported on Marketplace (via The Consumerist), the free meals will feature Kraft’s new Philadelphia 1/3 Less Fat Cream Cheese, and Kraft hopes they can win some folks over to the new Lite and flavorful condiment. They hope to get a response from the passengers who, in all honesty, probably don’t have anything better to do while in the air.
Maybe I’m just being cynical. Maybe I should just be happy to get a free bagel, but the whole thing still seems a little odd to me. Tell me what you think. Take the free meal with a smile on your face, or refuse to help Kraft cash in on a captive audience?
I am already forced to watch commercials before my $9 theater movie — wait 10 minutes before I can hit play on the DVD i just bought — are these really good ideas — and yes i know I don’t have too buy those products, but what fun would that be …

I still think jetBlue should offer those mini cereal boxes (maybe a variety of two or three choices) on morning flights let's say over 2 hours in duration that depart between 6 am and 9 am. I can't imagine them costing more compared to the current offerings all day. The only added cost if jetBlue wanted to do this the right way would be small cups/bowls (use the current plastic ones even???) and plastic spoons. Obviously, milk is already on board in the beverage options.
Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
They'd go through a lot more milk if there was cereal, but that could be handled by catering. I don't see it happening, but the logistics wouldn't be too terrible.
As for the Kraft deal, it is marketing plain and simple. This is hardly different than any other snack arrangement on any carrier. I'm sure there was a press release for the terra blue chips when they teamed up. I don't know what one will use it on, but having the cc there is no big deal. I'm not sure how it goes against the "new york" mentality either, but maybe that is because I live in NYC ;)

That's what I was wondering - what to use it on!? I think bagel chips would be a great addition, especially now to accompany the cream cheese. Cream cheese on cinnamin raisin bagel chips, yummm :D
About the Terra Blues - I am sure there was a PR. JetBlue is actually Terra's largest consumer of blue potatos worldwide :D
