So, jetBlue turns 8 in one week. Happy Birthday!

Now, as I recall, the birthday celebrations were announced around this time in years past. Hopefully the company is not cutting out those promos/contests/etc. for cost cuts! Profitability has increased, and most importantly it's ONCE A YEAR! I just hope we see some cool birthday stuff this year.

Here's what I'd like to see as part of the festivities. Not saying it should or would happen, but just some ideas:

Blue cake at every blue city on that day!

Free movies, one free drink per person on request in the air that day

Waived change fees on that day

For every 8 people we refer to jetBlue who book a ticket under our special referral code (new customers only) within a 12-month period, we get ONE free roundtrip flight.

And of course, great contests like in previous years.

Post your ideas, and let's all hope that they will announce some kind of birthday bash soon!

The cup cakes are a neat idea but would be a bigger hit amoungst the younger passengers rather than adults. Nevertheless, its pretty creative. I also like the idea of the free movie, drink (I would prefer more than one free but I still would take what I can get), and waived fees. I doubt they would wave the fare change fees because it would cause too much confusion with in their reservation rolls. You would get a lot of people trying to book a cheaper fare on a different flight then use the no fee option to switch to the flight they want.

One idea I had was to give everyone a $10 gift card towards a future flight as a "party favor" if you fly that week of their birthday.

Cool ideas.

By the way, about the free drinks - I flew twice in the past week and both flights offered free drinks - going up due to weather IROPS which was nice of them, and the return because of the advertised kickoff party at 37,000 feet. I noticed the FA did NOT announce thre free cocktail - she told me the company advises not to any more. I guess that makes sense, because if someone was not planning on getting a drink, they would if they hear the words free. Good way to increase revenue ^

You mean its a good way to cut costs.

No one extra is asking for a drink, they are saving from giving out free ones to people that would have never purchased one anyway.
