Does anyone have any insight on whether YX will continue service out of MKG after the Skyway contract is done and Skywest takes over? I have flown YX for both business and pleasure the last few years and I don't think I have ever had a flight that was not 75-100% occupied. I would truly hate to lose Midwest completely.:(

There is a darn good chance that within a few months YX won't be flying any plane under 50 seats. So the questions is, Do you think that MKG can support 2 RTs a day between MKG and MKE.
I'd guess that there is less than a 50% chance that MKG will stick around.

Who would want to see a gynecologist in the White House? By the way Tim, we are not suppose to be discussing politics here. Randy would get quite upset.

I think MKG could be close to supporting 2x a day 50 seat. I think they do 4x a day now with the 19 seater and most of the time that is almost at capacity.
I asked the MKG airport and they said the runway would be able to support a 50 seater.
We can only hope.

Could YX possibly schedule the CRJs on a milk-run that covers most of the former skyway cities? Or is that type of operation inefficient in jet aircraft?

I received this email response from Midwest Airlines when I inquired about the MKG status:
Thank you for contacting Midwest Airlines Online Customer Service.
At this time Midwest Airlines is not planning on ending service to Muskegon, MI.
We are transitioning from Skyway to Skywest, both do business as Midwest

will be a 50 passenger Canadair Regional Jet.
We are committed to providing our passengers with the best possible air travel
experience. Our Marketing department watches all markets extensively before
making a service expansion decision. However, they always appreciate receiving
feedback from our valuable customers. Please be assured, I have forwarded your

Liking the sound of this.
Muskegon County Airport Manager Marty Piette announced Friday that Midwest Airlines will begin offering two daily jet flights between Muskegon and Milwaukee's General Mitchell Airport on 50-seat regional jets, beginning April 6.
The two daily jet flights will replace the three daily flights now offered on 19-seat turbo-prop airplanes. Midwest Connect regional air routes fly the Canadair CRJ200 plane, the same plane Northwest Airlines used when it brought jet service to Muskegon in its ill-fated experiment.
According to the tentative schedule, there will be one morning jet flight leaving Muskegon for Milwaukee at 7:10 a.m. every day. A return flight will land in Muskegon at 3:05 p.m. and return to Milwaukee at 3:35 p.m.
The final flight each day will come into Muskegon from Milwaukee at 11:15 p.m., then proceed to Grand Rapids for the night.
