I need a cell phone like Nüvifone
http://www8.garmin.com/nuvifone/
Nüvifone will be available Q3 2008.
It has what I need:
-A cell phone that works around the world.
-GPS (hopefully with loadable maps for USA, Europe ...)
Is a similar phone available NOW? The Apple IPhone is nice, but has no GPS and is "attached" to a specific provider (AT&T, T-Mobil ...)
Thanks?
There was discussion about the phone in another thread already last night:

Also note that the Nuvifone will be tied to AT&T or T-Mobile in the US since it's GSM. Those are the only two GSM providers in the US.

I like my AT&T Tilt (also known as the HTC TyTN II or HTC Kaiser). You can add memory on an SD card and load software to make it a standalone gps. It obviously also works with over-the-air services like Microsoft Live Search maps and Google Maps.

Will also note that unlike the iphone, not only does it have a GPS built in but it also supports 3G data transfer speeds. Worlds of difference when using it as a tethered modem for a laptop - or even downloading right onto the device. And you get an actual slide out keyboard.

Nokia N95...
Let me start by asking which part of the Nuvifone you like best (and want in another phone).
It is the looks? The fact that it has GPS? Or that it's a touchscreen phone?
There are quite a few GPS enabled phones nowadays, and they all have their pros and cons.

I have a Sony Ericsson T610 since a couple of years, which is fine for me. All I want is a cell phone with GPS. I can't use a Blackberry style phone with "push" email .. I get plenty of spam due to some domains I have. It looks like the spammer scan the web and send me spam (which is taken care off in my PCs with Cloudmark).
I'll look at the phones the fellow FlyerTalkers posted. Thanks...

Thanks! Sorry, I didn't search/see that thread. I am going to follow this thread now:

Is the Nuviphone using a proprietary OS or Windows Mobile?
