Just a couple of quick questions:

1. Do I need to download the Pocked PC version or the Smartphone version?
2. Can I just download it straight to my phone and install it there or do I need to use Active Sync?

Thanks in advance.

You need the PocketPC version.

You can point your browser (on your phone) to:

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-pocketpc-cab for an OTA download, or download the executable here:

http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windowsmobile/download.html

which requires an activesync install.

I'm not sure that about the Tytn II, but on the Tytn I, Skype has real problems. YOu need to download old versions from dicey places to get it to work, or use Fring.

On the Tytn I/Hermes what problems have you had with the current version of Skype for PocketPC?

[Stalls during application use or the application failing to launch used to happen to my Tytn I but as of late it seems to be working smoothly (although I am not sure why. :o )]

Thanks (in advance).

I had locking, bad audio, and a few other problems. The old version worked and I've avoided upgrading, but am willing to give it a shot. I'll try upgrading over the weekend and report back.

One problem that I've had with almost every VOIP program on a TyTN was getting audio out of my front speaker. The best I've come up with is a third party program to push it out of a bluetooth headset.

If Skype had gotten around that problem, great. I'll happily eat crow.

Skype has not gotten around that problem of audio coming out of the PDA speaker.
