Hi, I'm sure this has been answered before, but can't seem to find details.
Looking to book 2 night Stay at the Hilton Shanghai using the 70,000 points I have amassed. What are the Normal extra charges from hotels? and how do they calculate any Taxes?, How would I know if Breakfast is included?
Thanks in Advance

There should be no taxes or any (involuntary) additional charges. Of course, if you raid the min-bar or have dinner at the hotel, etc., they will charge you for that.
Breakfast probably not included but, if you're a Diamond, you should get access to the lounge (if any) which will supply lots of food/munchies. A lot depends on the individual property.
I've only made a few award stays (as a Diamond), but in every case we were upgraded, well fed (lounge and/or restaurant), well liquored up, and never had an additional penny on the bill.

I had a 6 night award stay at the Hilton Shanghai during Christmas and I can confirmed that there were no additional charges for tax, etc. As a Diamond member, I and my family (two award rooms) were upgraded to the Executive Floor and given lounge access which included a full breakfast every morning.

Sadly only a Silver, always concentrated on earning flying Miles rather than points.
What is the swimming Pool like? There is no picture on the Website
does anyone know if this is true of all award stays (AXON, GLON, etc) and for any category at any destination? I mean the no taxes part?

Yup, no taxes. If you don't buy anything at the hotel, you can leave with a $0 bill.
but ANY destination? I suppose there might be some exception but I don't know it and have never seen it. of course, I have never seen a $0 bill at checkout either, but $224 for a family of four with restaurant/pool/bar charges for 6 nights works for me.

I have had award stays in the US, London, Paris, Rome and Prague, and I have never encountered any taxes anywhere. This is why it's so nice to be on award stays in high tax countries like the UK, 17% VAT.

I know some hotels will still charge a resort fee. It is listed on the website as an add on to your rate. Some it is a percent so reward rooms do not have to pay those.

As well - I have stayed on awards in UK, Ireland, Swiss, Mexico, Argentina and the US and have never paid taxes. Left with $0 bill or what ever I charged to the room.
Peace!
