I am looking for a Starwood luxury property for 8-9 nights, warm weather only for Mid March (preferably 1 with a promotion). Any suggestions?

This is vague and requires more information on your part.

Information that might be helpful
What is your definition of warm?
Geographic preference such as Country, City, Region?
Just warm weather (say San Diego) or do you want a beach/tropical destination (Say Key West/Aruba) ?
How much are you looking to spend?
Is this a special occasion, romantic getaway
Are you going alone or with friends?
Do you want a properties with dining, restaurants and activities close by?

In addition there are existing threads on Beach, Florida & Carribean locations that you might want to read.

OP: I'm doing just what you are suggesting in mid-March. I'm going to Phoenix Westin Kierland resort for 4 nights, then Puerto Vallarta 5 nights (though not at a Starwood property - reviews weren't so good).

More info would still be more helpful. Do you want us to take into consideration where you are coming from, how long it takes to get there, or whether miles can easily be used for the flights? Do you have a budget? Are you interested in changing cities mid-trip, or do you want to stay in one place the whole time? Do you golf or enjoy the beach? When you say "luxury," do you mean that you really want to go all out? Or do you just mean somewhere nice? (Knowing your budget might help answer this.)

As Cheap Elite said, there are existing threads for your request. Here's one that might interest you...
Rec *wood hotel in Caribbean? (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=615023)

Knowing what I've read so far in this thread, I'd suggest these broad options:
St John
St Maarten
Any combination of the Haciendas on the Yucatan peninsula.
Sheraton Cable Beach, Bahamas (phase 2 was just completed, I think)
Key West
Cancun
Los Cabos
Puerto Vallarta
San Diego or surrounding areas within 100 miles
Phoenix/Scottsdale area
Hawaii (Not Waikiki since you said quiet. Be sure to check out recent discussions in the Maui thread about a studio villa for $258/nt or less all-in.)
South America (Argentina, perhaps.)
South Pacific?

Westin St. John would be perfect. If you can get a room at this late date.

Cheers,

spent the 7 nights at the westin puerto vallarta each of the last two spring breaks. everyone loved it- although you need to keep in mind it is mexico.
hotel is fine, pools are great and they treat platinums great. you will be able to have breakfast in the royal beach club as well as cocktails and food at night. if it is crowded they will allow you to eat the buffet downstairs for free and have cocktails at the lobby bar. you can walk to the marina and it is a reasonable cab ride into town. puerto vallarta itself is a very cool place with lots to do and great food and beverage choices. i would be there again but we are going to europe this year.

Sheraton or Westin Fiji, South Pacific
Sydney, NSW Australia, several SPG options
Noosa, QLD Australia
Bora Bora (cant remember name of resort - looks beautiful though)

That is all I know of that may suit your requirements. Enjoy your trip :)

Why not head to South America where it's the middle of the summer, and going into fall?

Travelling from where?

How about Muscat in Oman, for something exotic? Oman is an interesting country and felt like the safest place I've ever been in my entire life. (It felt so safe, Mr Canuck and I picked up hitchhikers.)

We were there in late March-early April in 2006 and the temperatures were in the mid 30s to low 40s Celsius.
