Hilton HHonors - rewards stay

I just made gold. Stayed a rewards stay at the Conrad in Chicago and got nothing extra. When I stayed a reward stay at a Hampton I got waters and snacks as outlined in the web site. Which is right? Nothing, or the free breakfast that they say Gold Honors gets?

Did you fill out your my way profile for conrad? As a gold you also should have been given a breakfast cert. Conrads normally do the water at turn down, other then that they do not do much for golds/diamonds.

Did you get an upgrade? According to this thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=702937 you should have received the upgrade or breakfast coupons but not both. Some posters have reported getting both, but according to HHonors T&Cs, the hotel only has to give you one or the other.

That said, on an award stay, you sould receive the same benefits you would receive on a paid stay.

Yeah, I filled out a my way (which doesn't mention Conrad). I was recognized as a Gold on my reservation confirmation, but received nothing. I just figured it was another example of how Starwood is so much better, and it was a waste of time and money achieving Gold status in Hilton too. I actually had so much trouble with the room locks I asked for and got all my points back, so I guess it was a free night. I was just wondering if they really did nothing for Gold Honors.
