Hi. Visiting LV from UK Feb 08 to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. At present we have a Bungalow King Suite at the MGM booked, directly from their website at a cost of $115 a night which seemed a bargain. Anyone got any opinions on these rooms? What are they like? Anyone know of any better rooms with similar good deals (I don't mind paying a bit more if the deals worth it). Thanks!

Here are a couple of threads with bungalow experiences, here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=766553&highlight=bungalow) and here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=714456&highlight=bungalow). Enjoy your stay.

You can review the floor plan of the various rooms and suites at www.mgmgrand.com . I am sure you will enjoy your stay (although you might want to look at the various room types). The MGM is a very large hotel, so it is likely that they will have many room types available -- but you will not be spending much time there, don't worry if you don't get a room with a view. One of my favorite things about MGM is that, upon my arrival, I often find there is a major entertainment or sports event occurring during my stay that I was not expecting. Also, there are numerous dining options (15 restaurants, more or less): the Rainforest Cafe, Buffet, Studio Cafe, Grand Wok, Joel Robuchon's Atelier and a Wolfgang Puck restaurant (all adjacent to the casino); on the Studio Walk there are two seafood restaurants, an Italian, a steakhouse, and another Robuchon at the Signature Tower. Then there are the two poolside restaurants, the food court, a sandwich shop, and of course 24-hour room service. The Robuchons have one and two Michelin stars respectively.
Charge everything to your room and, if you are a big winner (or loser) you can always ask if any of it can be "comped."

I booked a room at MGM in February on a package that supposedly allows a Bungalow King Suite for $20-25 more than the Grand Tower room. For the first night, however, the upcharge was quoted much higher than $20, so I passed. I figure I'll inquire at check-in. If available, I'll jump on it; otherwise, I'll be happy with the rate I got for the standard room.
