In addition to the UA bonus, there are also a Delta SkyMiles and AAdvantage IDINE miles bonuses, respectively.
Although I am elite in Priority Club Rewards dining program, the only "bonus" that appeared was a "Fast Track" bonus for this year -- irrelevant to me.
Having called up IDINE, they confirmed the miles bonuses above, as well as supposedly only the Fast Track PC bonus -- which I think is open to all.
Perusing the other IDINE participants, it also appears that there is a NW "Fast Track" bonus open to all.
Continental, predictably, shows nothing to this non-elite in the program.
I have not checked the other programs, i.e. Midwest, Alaska, etc.
I'll leave it to others to post the respective Terms and Conditions for the bonuses mentioned above.
OVERVIEW OF BONUS. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR EACH TO RECEIVE BONUS.
Alaska and Northwest, spend $250 between 1/28 and 3/31 gets you Fast Track to VIP Status, useless for most of us.
American, get 250 bonus miles, for each dine over $25 between 1/28 and 3/31, no limit.
Delta, spend $250 between 1/28 and 3/31 gets you 2000 bonus miles.
United, earn 500 bonus miles for every $100 spent between 1/28 and 3/15. 10,000 bonus max.
USAirways, spend $250 between 1/28 and 3/31 gets you 1000 bounus miles.
Continental, nothing!! Not even the rate you dine bonus. Just 5 miles per dine.

Fairly useless for me as I don't generally spend $25 a shot - had they begun these on Jan 1st, I might've been able to qualify for the Delta aggregate from one recent larger-than-usual dine.

This is nice... I will be buying $25 gift certificates per day for some of my fav restaurants for an effective 20 miles per dollar... At one restaurant, I go with a large group and routinely spend $500+ in one meal... So that's at least 20 consecutive days I'll be buying $25 GC's... They are going to think I'm crazy :)

I registered for the NW promo, not quite understanding it. AFAIK I'm already VIP through 2008, having had 20+ dines in 07. Would this registration undo it, particularly since it's doubtful I'll spend $250 before 3/31?

I don't have time to cut and paste all the T&C's right now, but at least the Delta, American, and United versions of IDine have new bonus offers starting today until March 31. Check the respective websites for details.
True to form, each one has it's own peculiar rules:
AA: Earn 250 Aadvantage Bonus Miles for every qualified dine of $25 or more through 3/31/08.
Delta: Earn 2000 bonus miles when you spend $250 through 3/31/08.
United: Earn 500 bonus miles for every $100 you spend through 3/15/08.
Others can flesh out all the details and any other airline that's participating

That promo seems to be for people who did not qualify last year for 2008 VIP status. Since you already have VIP status, there's no point in registering for it.

The website registration for the AA bonus is down: all attempts this morning to register were met with the warning: "We've encountered a problem registering you for the bonus offer. Try again later or call customer service". Finally, I called CS and they registered me. Attempting then, after logging out and back in (I never trust this stuff) says "you've already registered", so I'm good to go. This may help someone from reinventing the wheel with AA.

Great news! I am in SFO right now, and have 4 dines that have not credited yet, but I just found the bonus right now... so we will have to see whether it counts from when the dine occurred or when the credit is posted as to whether it was before the whistle blew!

I registered for the AA bonus without problem on Jan 28 and dined the 29th. It's good they finally came out with some kind of bonus to pique our interest, now that it's 5 per + 5 per for rating (my first three 2008 dines' rating bonus miles have posted.) Go forth from the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives... and dine... ;)

haha... always good humor from you...
this equates to 20 miles/$ if you're good enough to spend only $25 in your visit, of course the ratio declines for the marginal dollar thereafter... but still a good promo.
I thought it was interesting that the 5+5 for Rating ends on 3/31, as does the 250miles / >=$25.. Will we see something new and exciting appear on 4/1??
I became spoiled with 20 mile/$ dines, and haven't iDined this year with the 5+5 - maybe others are doing the same and iDine realizes they need something more to entice the mile hungry crowd.

Man, y'all are some greedy folk here!!! I would be happy with 1/mile per dollar... That would give me DOUBLE the miles I currently get at non-idine restaurants with my AA credit card which gives 1/mile per dollar... :D

I believe, that since its inception, on the whole the AA dining has been the most generous in awarding bonus miles.
Good catch re the rate your dine bonus ending on 3/3/108 -- I had not noticed that.
That said, I am quite sure that it will be continued for AA, as well as the other IDINE participants as it is a cornerstone of the program's "rating" system -- that insulates it better from the claim that it just loans $$ at potentially usurious rates.

Just wanted to highlight the issue of $25 and how, in the past, some people have found that it's a good idea to add a few cents to the total because sometimes the exact amount won't automatically produce a bonus. fwiw, I try to add at least a dime onto the bonus threshold.

While I agree AA has been pretty good over the past year or so, I don't recall any AA promo being as generous as the Delta promotion (25 dines of $25 or more in 6 months got 25,000 bonus miles) or United promotion ($125 in dines for 6 consecutive months) that were run in, I believe, the second half of 2006.

That promotion right there screams GC purchase to me. Essentially, you could get a free coach ticket for stopping by the local bennigan's every day for a month. Bring that one to AA!

You sound you're still stuck in the 10 miles/$ days? :)
Now, in the 5+5 miles/$ days, I never would make a dine amount other than $xx.00, $xx.20, $xx.40, $xx.60, or $xx.80. Those 1 to 19 cents you could add in between those amounts are "thrown away" from the point of earning miles. :)

Good point! I only use one of these programs, so I can have a AA-centric viewpoint. Another thing I was trying to do is separate it from the (also Q1, unfortunately,) the current Rating bonus of 5 miles per dollar for several airlines. That's a major advantage of FlyerTalk, it tends to keep us honest and give us a wider viewpoint.
(N.B. You can also feel free to use the "Report Bad or Missing Post" function to make a valuable suggestion like that; it goes to my e-mail directly, so I can make changes sooner.)

It's nice to see that this time around the bonuses are posting right away, at least in the case of the AA and UA offers. I had several dines that totaled over $300 that I charged on my UA card and shortly after the dines posted so did the 3 500 mile bonuses. In the past you would have to wait 6-8 weeks after the promotion ended to see the bonus post.
And on another tangent, I've had scores of dines in several of the airlines' programs and it has been at least a year and a half since I've had to fax in a receipt to get a missed credit. So in genreal a big ^ to Rewards Network.

How long does it usually take to have the bonus 5miles for rating post?
THey typically post only when they're sent to the airline, whatever cycle that's on.
However, recently at AAdvantage Dining, one batch of my ratings posts (a) was sent to the airline a week later than normal, and (b) now shows up at the airline but still doesn't show up at the dining website!
So I guess allow two airline posting cycles at least.
And btw, they post differently at the two places. At the airline site, it's typically something like "VIP bonus". But at the dining site, it shows up (this year) as second posting of the same dine with a stupid link for rating the same restaurant visit again! However, completing this second rating form earns no further bonus. So I've gotten in the habit of always rating the real post, then never rating the bonus post, and thus I can easily tell which are the bonus posts because those are the ones that still have a "rate your transcation" dine but aren't at the top of the list. :)

Maybe I've got this in the wrong place but I'm sure a mod can move this if they feel the need:
I had breakfast at Francoli Gourmet today in Newport Beach, CA (in Fashion Island Mall). First of all, the food was excellent and pricing reasonable.
Most important for those of you in SoCal---when the check came there was a promotion offering a bonus $10.00 Gift Card for every $100.00 GC purchased. They offer idine rewards up to $1000.00 per month.
Here's another nice little bonus---this place began as a speciality importer of fine Italian foods, cookware and crockery, which they stll offer. Then they added a very nice wine bar, both by the glass and/or take home by the bottle. Next they added food and included a deli so that you can take many of the ingredients home with you. Weekends they added entertainment (no points on Fri. or Sat. but a GC would solve that problem).
With the holiday season coming up you may be able to fill a lot of stockings with wonderful gifts while also maxing out the Sept. promotion.
